Default Must Have on Blu-rays

I am new to the world of Bluray. I have 100's of DVD's and do not really want to replace all of them w/ Blu Ray unless it's a must have.

Curious, what are some of the MUST HAVE on BluRays, meaning, the sound/picture quality on DVD doesn't hold a candle to the Blu-Ray.

Here's the BluRays I have already, Avatar, StarTrek, Batman - Dark Knight, Underworld (ROTL), Jack Johnson Concert Film.

Also, this brings up another question. I have an Oppo BDP-80 player. I just got the Dark Knight and popped it in...it takes a LOOONG time to load and sometimes I have to turn off the Oppo and turn it back on to load. Is the Dark Knight Blu-Ray known to take an extra long time? Got the BluRay off Ebay (it was new supposedly) and not sure if it's a bad disc or what.

Thanks!!!!

Well as you can tell by my collection I've only got 12, even though I've had a player since the start of the year, but I just don't have the money to get everything I would like.

However I could suggest to you Monsters, Inc., because it just looks so vibrant and incredible in HD. That can apply to all of Pixar's Blu-rays, but Monsters, Inc. is possibly the best since it is generally a very colourful film, and you can see all the strands of hair on Sulley's fur.

There's just one suggestion.

I can't help you exactly with your player problem, but I remember reading a few reports that The Dark Knight takes a little longer than most Blu-rays, so I'm not sure.

From what I read and heard, isn't M&C rather mediocre in this department?

It's not bad, but it's definitely not reference.

M&C is more audio reference then anything. A proper 5.1 system will really showcase the power of BD audio.

Anyways, I would add Band of Brothers to the list. Awesome picture and sound. Some episodes were nuts.

You can't go wrong with any of the older classic WB release like Casablanca, Wizard of Oz.

Just take a look at my BD collection. Nearly all of my titles have a substantial upgrade in PQ, AQ, or both.

The VQ is good but not spectacular. The AQ is where this movie really shines and IMO makes this movie a must have on blu-ray. Others are:

Avatar
Star Trek
Iron Man
Transformers 1 & 2
The Incredible Hulk
I, Robot
Armageddon
Alice in Wonderland
G.I. Joe
Max Payne
Serenity
Terminator Salvation
Hellboy I & II

Before anyone starts saying some of the movies on my list aren't all that great, keep in mind that I made the list with only VQ and/or AQ in mind. If you like these particular movies, then IMO they're must-haves on blu. Also Band of Brothers and all Pixar movies are usually highly recommended.
