Monster cables are overpriced garbage. That's your problem. They suckered you into buying it when you bought the TV, didn't they?

Have you tried connecting it to a different equipment?

C'mon. You've been a member for over a year, and you still bought a Monster HDMI cable? First, return the cable. Then buy yourself an inexpensive good cable from Monoprice or Blue Jeans Cables.

As for your PS3, were you using component or composite cables before? You may want to try a reset, then connect to the TV and let the PS3 auto-detect.

Not to sound rude or rain on you're parade but $30 is still a lot for an HDMI cable. You can get them for under $5 and they work the same or I heard even better then Monster cables.

$30 for an HDMI cable is still too much. You can get one that works exactly the same way for way less!

Please don't mistreat someone buying an expensive cable, it's like bad talking someone that bought BOSE audio systems. Granted I would recommended a much cheaper cable (and something cheaper than BOSE of course).

The HDMI output of the PS3 isn't set up to HDMI, which requires holding the power button for a second click, or wait for it to shut down if you want to do it safe. After the second click, the video output should restart to any of the outputs you plugged in. If that does not work, use the provided standard definition cable (composite) for the PS3 and switch the video output throught the display settings. When you select HDMI, select all of the compatable HD resolutions (720p, 1080i, 1080p) or automatic, which usually outputs at 1080p unless if the display has an HDMI communication to the PS3.

Either that or the cable is defective or the inputs on the TV or PS3 HDMI outputs are defective. The alternative is to purchase a component cable ($20) for the PS3 which also works with HD resolutions (including 1080p). Component can't send a 1080p signal on Blu ray due to HDCP (HD copy protection).

Well, Monster & Bose aren't really that expensive (compared with actual high end gear). What they are, is low-end products, priced well above the class they are actually in.

However you want to look at them, I'd steer clear of either brand.
