United Kingdom Daniel Isn't Real

I screened the new Arrow blu-ray over the weekend and really enjoyed it. It's another of the horror films produced by Elijah Wood (Mandy, Color Out of Space). The atmosphere, acting and super stylish direction are fantastic. The first half of the film is a chilling look at severe mental illness and by the end of the film, the horror aspect really delivers. Even though on the surface it seems artsy, t's ultimately the sort of film made for diehard horror buffs. Not for the faint of heart. It carries a warning for people triggered by strobe lights. I've never seen that label on a film before. I don't know if this ever got a US theatrical run, but it would be pretty trippy to see on a giant screen. Transfer and sound were excellent. Well worth picking up.

No video essay or Frightfest extras on the US Yellow Veil release, and perhaps a different introduction, but does include 3 commentaries.
