It's a cute film that harkens back to the old shorts a bit. Tuffy, Spike, Droopy, and Butch all show up as characters. Much better than some of the other attempts. Michael York is Holmes, John Ryhs-Davies is Watson, and Malcolm McDowell is Moriarty. Silly references to the old Holmes films too. Decent, but the kids will like it more.

I want all the original shorts released as era-sets. That way, I can grab all the Fred Q. gold and discard all the Chuck Jones rubbish.
![]() Weird. The site won't let me spell out Q U I M B Y. It edits out the first four letters like they are a curse word. Last edited by BouCoupDinkyDau; 08-25-2010 at 04:03 PM. |

I purchased over the weekend and was also glad to see Spike, Droopy, and the rest of the old gang. My 6year old enjoyed it too even though she's not entirely familiar w/T&J. My w-mart only had one and this wouldn't be the 1st time a w-mart exclusive disappeared and NEVER came back to my local w-mart so I didn't want to chance it. I enjoyed it for what it was and can recommend.

This type of exclusive is extremely annoying, I would definitely have bought the Blu-Ray if it was more widely available.
I hope we get the older Tom and Jerry DTVs on Blu-Ray eventually too. Since they were produced for widescreen, and produced in HD since 2004. The Scooby-Doo DTVs would be perfect for Blu-Ray, especially as a collection. Since the Scooby-Doo DTVs have been produced in widescreen since at least 2003, and I expect the majority were produced in HD too. I wonder if there will be a similar Blu-Ray exclusive for the upcoming 'Scooby Doo: Camp Scare'. I'm canceling my pre-order for the DVD, just in case. |

I think they were all produced in widescreen, because the first one, Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, airs in widescreen on Cartoon Network HD, unless it's stretched/cropped for for HD broadcast.

Zombie Island{along with Witch's Ghost, Alien Invaders and Cyber Chase} are 4.3. Starting with Legend of the Vampire, they began making them in Widescreen. The seasons of What's New Scooby Doo{S3 at least} and Shaggy and Scooby Doo Get A Clue were also produced in Widescreen.

The video quality sounds disappointing, check the recent review that was added.
