This might be the greatest game no one played. Forget about the hype and the build up on this title, take it for what it is now, a bargain bin game with loads of content that'll keep you busy for hours. I personally have logged over 60+ hours playing this game.

The story is slim, but that's not why I bought the game, I bought it for the amazing Co-op play in a RPG Viking World. Think of it as a loot lovers dream come true. You'll play the same boards again and again, but I think of them as just arena battles. The gear you get is completely customizable and the number of characters (5) keep the play styles different (if you're willing to try something different). There is a level cap of 50.

The one big gripe about the game is the camera, it will try to think for you and re-center itself or skew, but you can always hit the left bumper and it will straighten it out. Not a deal breaker, but something of concern.

My advice, check it out - if you're up for a challenge. This is not an easy game. Add me if you have the game and want to run through on co-op. I have 2 level 50 characters, Defender and Bio-Engineer, with a Berserker in training.

Here is a link that explains the character classes, runes, backstory and anything you'd want to know about this game. If you're looking for a good co-op RPG type game where loot is abundant and customization is fun for you, then give this a shot. Highly Underrated.

I have been on the fence about this for so long. I think you may have conviced me to pick up a cheapy used copy. I always had interest in it but the reviews really threw me off. I think I may check it out when I get time, I am so backlogged right now on games I do not know when that will be. Thanks for the review though.

Is the co-op play online or just split screen?

It cost an estimated $100 million to produce. It was in development for close to 10 years. It was hyped beyond belief. It was to be part of a planned trilogy and in the end...total flop.

The co-op I've played is just via xbox live. I'll check it out tonight to see if you can play locally.

It's really not a bad deal, I picked it up for cheap and it's surpassed my expectations. Just look at the wiki site I linked to above. The rune combinations and charm combo's and quests add a tremendous amount of depth to the game.

The biggest gripe is the camera. Just remember, left bumper to center it. All is good.

You can even dye your armor so you can create custom colors (no it doesn't take up a rune spot either).

No problem, I just wanted to share this b/c I've had it for a while and never played it, got it on sale for I believe ~19, but it's probably lower now. Even at that price it's a good deal.

I think the online reviews were just mad at the length of time the game took to develop and the outcome. Like I said, throw all that away and take it for what it is. A god like character in a viking world, with metal goblins, trolls, dark elves, and special bosses - all of which are difficult to beat. You can master the game, it just takes some time and skill building.

Oh, and with each level up, you add skill points to certain skill trees to specialize...but like Two Worlds, you can respec your skill tree (for a fee) anytime you wish. I've gone from a laser, hammer cybernetic defender to a team tank defender in just minutes.

Well my friend had it and it always looked good. But the no death penalty pretty much made it worthless.

Not necessarily true. Your equipment takes a hit (have to go back to repair it) and you have to watch the cut scene...................reason enough and motivation to keep your guy alive. Plus, there's always the achievement of completing the level and not dying (levels take anywhere from 1 hour to 2 or 3 and there are 4 levels).

someone please delete the last message. It is in no way relevant, and he is trying to sell jersey's I think. Also, I played this game when it first came out. I really enjoyed it, but my friends got rid of it quickly and then in turn so did i. I've been thinking about picking it back up, but wasn't sure if anyone would be playing. Well now i know. I will most likely get this on my next paycheck. Also, this game is now available on games on demand on the Xbox dashboard.
