Why new line, why? Pan's Labyrinth

This is a bunch of BS. Pan's Labyrinth is being released in the UK on hd dvd and blu ray, but not in the U.S. Well the blu ray is pal encoded and hd dvd is region free, I don't want to have to order the hd dvd if I don't have to but I dont see anything about a U.S. release of this movie anytime soon, has anyone heard any news?

There is no PAL with HD

New Line has not announced their HD slate, but they will start before the end of the year. you can bet Pan is one of the early ones.

Yea, I knew hd dvd wasnt pal, but blu is. Kinda bummed me out, but hopefully they announce it soon, because having hair spray be their first hi def release, yea not cool at all.

There is no Pal in HD! They're only region codes A, B & C, thats it. As far as that movie goes just chill it will come out by next year for sure.

HD DVD has no region coding. Look at this link:

Here is the list of region codes for Blu-ray:

Region 1: North America, South America, East Asia except for China (India, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia etc.)
Region 2: Europe and Africa
