ya, you will be creating your own hero or villain and teaming up with existing ones... i prefer that than just playing as black mask or someone

I still don't get how you play the game. Like if you are Superman do you fight against other people playing online as Brainiac or something?

Nope, you create your own hero/villain and choose costume, powers, etc. Then you can choose to help Superman out, but someone else online might be helping out the villain who Superman is fighting with. So it puts you in direct conflict with other people online.
