Default RED BOX Selections

Anyone having any luck with a good selection of Blu's in Red Box?

I've gone to 3 and the selection varies greatly.

One had about 20 then the other 2 had 6 each.

Obviously YMMV but what kind of titles are you seeing?

The grocery store close to me has 2 machines........ Is there an option on the main menu for Blu-ray??? I didn't see any advertising etc.... so perhaps those machines don't have any, I don't know..... but where, in the menu options etc.... will it show the option for Blu-ray? (I obviously haven't used Red Box too often)

On the main screen there should be an icon that says something like "See Blu-ray selection." Whenever I use a Redbox I reserve online and they recently updated their system so you can reserve Blu-rays online. I haven't rented a Blu-ray yet though because there's no movies I've wanted to see that they've had on Blu-ray. They don't have a lot of movies on Blu-ray since they just started carrying Blu-ray a couple weeks ago.

Excellent..... looked it up online, and it looks like the 2 machines carry the same titles, which is '9' Blu-rays....... (one has 1 title out of stock, the other has 2 out of stock)

Not bad..... Only title I might get is "Book Of Eli" so I might walk up there with the kids later.

My local Redox machines are carrying about 5-10 BD titles.

I work at an independently owned video store and absolutely despise Red Box. Gotta love that a little machine in grocery stores can single handedly destroy small (or even large) businesses.

Luckily, we haven't been effected too much (yet), probably mostly due to our Blu-ray selection. We have around 500 that you can rent for a couple days for $2.50.

Not that I blame you guys, you may not have video stores in your area anymore...

Mine by my house went from 2-3 to 9-10 in the span of a week. Looks like they are rolling out more titles quickly now.

You can't really blame them for coming up with such a great idea.

The blu-ray's cost more at Redbox, right? Isn't it $1.50 a day?

I have only used the Red Box a couple of times...... and before Netflix I would go to the independently owned store since Blockbuster/Hollywood's selection stinks..... but, that was before Netflix......... With the price, ease, selection, etc..... I can't see the Brick and Mortars staying in business too much longer.

And people wonder why the economy stinks. Small businesses are dying because of big corporations. People like convenience and paying less, and there are consequences for such things.

There, I'll keep it to myself now. Please go back on topic.

Terrible selection near me. 2 machines, side-by-side... only 1 had BD, and it only had 1 (Slumdog Millionaire). I rented it, and the thing wouldn't even play -- there was some wierd 'flaking' on the disc surface.

Reported/returned it, and checked for something else... and both machines were BD-free.

The blu-rays are either very popular, radically understocked, or both. I'm sure there will be some growing-pain frustrations for the next few months.
