Default Bioshock: Game of the Year candidate

The reviews are already coming out: Masterpiece all the way. Living up to hype. Special.

I've played the demo and unless there's some unreal letdown that happens, I think this is one of those benchmark titles that people will be talking about for years to come. It's special. It sets a new standard on all levels.

For now, this comes out next week to the PC and the 360. I really hope that the PS3 gets this thing before long because it's something that every gamer need to at least try, even if you don't like first person games or "shooters." It's that special, IMO.

Classifying this game as a first person shooter alone would be a mistake. If you try to run and gun in this thing, you will fail and die miserably and repeatedly.

You need to use your brains, your wits, and be immersed in an INCREDIBLE storyline in a truly rich world. Patience!

I'm getting this on the PC next week and I can't wait for it.

Folks: Find a way to play this gem some way, some how.

I'm not much into PC gaming, thankfully I have a PS3 and Xbox 360. The Bioshock demo is great, but I'm more a RPG fan so I'll be picking up Two Worlds next week

I'll pick up Bioshock later on.

If you go to www.gamerankings.com right now and put Bioshock into the search engine, you will see that this thing is on its way to some of the highest scores and reviews of any game in the modern era.

Look at these numbers:

^^ Those are all just for the 360. The PC version always takes longer for reviews to come out, but already those numbers are shaping up to be at least the same thing.

Wait until you read some of those reviews!

I can't wait!

Definitely a mega-title for sure. I'll probably grab it on PC also.

All the reviews and discussions say the PC version trumps the 360 version on all levels. A lot of it having to do with the 360 limiting texture depths and such (making it look more dull and flat) due to it's space limitations on DVD (too bad 360 doesn't have Blu-ray or this title would be so much more even).

2k publishing is a good thing. It may someday make it to PS3. I just hope they re-write it and do it right instead of a crap port like all their past titles.

PS3 needs to be the de facto development platform that all others are ported from. Going PS3 to everything else is easy and maintains quality best. Doesn't work the other way around very well as the cells end up not even being used thus degrading performance.

The game demo really was great, was looking forward to seeing this for a long while and got to say from what I've seen it's every bit what I was hoping for.

Also, on the comment that the PC version will be better.. true can't argue with that but the PC as a major gaming platform is looking a little dodgy at best. To get a game to play the equivalent of it's console counterparts costs a lot of money and it's just not worth it for most people.

And yet the 360 version is raking in these kinds of reviews and numbers.

That tells me that the PC version that I'm getting next week is going to be truly beyond belief and past description!

Correct. Sony needs to step up their side of things to meet third parties halfway on developing games for their hardware otherwise we're just going to see more of this:

^^ And EA is hardly the only one guilty of this.

Any day now Gamespot, FileFront, IGN, and everyone else should have a demo for the PC ready to go.

Steam is even selling the game over their system and should have the demo lined up as well.

yeah dude its an exclusive to 360 and pc

the rumors of a port to the ps3 are false, 2k has denied them, there is NO port to the ps3, even though it was rumored to be released next year

and how is the pc version superior to the 360? arent they the same game?
or is there extra content that i dont know about..?

unless the pc comes with online play I couldnt see it being better.... except for those of us that have huge graphics cards and 2560 x 1600 supported monitor... then it could be a smidge better

Read the reviews, for starters. Play the demo if you can.

Your question isn't very specific so I'm not sure what you're looking for.

I've only played the demo ... but its just an intriguing game, its not like when you pop in doom 3 and yeah the graphics were smashing but you've been there done that so its really nothing new ... this is a whole new kind of story.. you have these injectors that give you special techniques... and you still dont really understand what you've gotten into... just a very intriguing game... best I can do from the demo
