I thought that was only my store. I told my manager about that situation (hddvd + Sony) and he just told me that they are trying to get rid of excess store product.

Well, look at it this way. Right now that store is selling the Toshiba HD-A20 player for an all time low retail price of $299.99 (instead of the usual $399.99), while the HD-A2 is still $299.99. I wouldn't buy the HD-A2 either. So, with that in mind, they have to get rid of it somehow. Might as well attach it to a very nice Sony lcd tv.

Work there as well, but i'm at a service center (did some time in the store tho last year) and yeah the Blu player is on the end cap on the main aisle with the nice ass 25000:1 contrast samsung TV, and the HD DVD is hooked up on the end cap way in the back corner (real hard to miss) with some scrubby ass Westinghouse TV or some equally lame TV
