Give it some time. Universal has jumped into the fray. It may be be awhile. As for this being Jackson's last good movie...what about LORD OF THE RINGS or KING KONG?

LotR was ok and King Kong was shit. I like his old gross out gore stuff better. Like Meet the Feebles, Bad Taste or DeadAlive.

Hopefully when it is released it'll be dual-layered with DTS-HD MA and of course all the extras from the Signature Collection Laserdisc/Peter Jackson's Director's "Fun" Cut DVD. I still have the HDDVD and will gladly buy the Blu-ray disc release.
Maybe Universal will have seamless branching between both versions?

I'd buy this just for Trini Alvarado. I think she was good in this and very cute! Hadn't seen her in anything before and haven't seen her in anything since. Wonder what became of her.

As Ray_Rogers mentioned, there is a HD-DVD, so I think a blu-ray edition is just a matter of time.

Or, you could do what I did and actually get a HD-DVD player on ebay--they're dirt cheap now that the format is "obsolete". As are most of the HD-DVD movies.

She recently played the role of Samantha Loeb in the Fox sci-fi drama Fringe, appearing in two episodes in 2008 and 2009. Alvarado has parts in the upcoming film All Good Things, which also stars former co-star Kirsten Dunst, and The Good Guy, which had been screened at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 26, 2009.

With Back to the Future coming out in October, Universal should just really go ahead and release this soon. What better time than around Halloween, with this being a Robert Zemeckis produced film with Michael J. Fox?

Would love to see this on Blu-Ray, one of my favourite movies.

Why are they taking so long to release it, considering its already been on HD-DVD? Bloody studios....
