Hey Guys. I am looking for a new LCD tv. It will almost etirely be used for film on BD/DVD but also a little tv now and then. I don't game.
I have been looking at Panasonics 2010 LCDs. Would any of these be a good choice? I would have love to get a plasma but unfortunately I have a vision definicy that means I can see flicker and a rainbow like effect on Plasma. So now I need to get a LCD which looks the most like Plasma. Would Panasonics LCD with IPS be a good choice? I really like the more soft picture it has and the way it presents colours. I am also considering Samsung LE40C650 because of the better blacks. My budget is around 1.500 dollars. Size is 40-42". Any input would be most welcome! ![]() |

Panasonic's regular LCD's are excellent as far as LCDs go. But they don't go very big (last I checked, no larger than 37 inch). The Alpha-IPS panels are extremely sharp and have the widest viewing angle of any panel. Pretty accurate color, too. With a reputation for being more natural rather than eye popping.
They do have some edge-lit LED LCDs now. They go up to 42 inch, no reviews yet. I'd be willing to bet with their Alpha IPS panels though, they probably have some of the best viewing angles of any of the edge lit TVs. Last edited by Toptube; 09-17-2010 at 12:44 AM. |

Thanks! In Denmark you can get a 42" non edge lit LCD G20 IPS so I think I might go with that...
