Filmed in VistaVision in 1955 Strategic Air Command arrived at a time when there was a heightened expectation that a possible World War III might occur at any time and this film documents steps taken by the US Air Force to ensure this did not happen. James Stewart was the perfect choice for the leading role having been a US Air Force Brigadier General in real life during World War II. Oh yes, there is a noticable lack of Jimmy Stewart on Blu-Ray. Measures need to be taken to remedy this quick.

Another movie along aviation lines with James Stewart is 1957's The Spirit of St. Louis - also missing from Blu-Ray... just a thought.
