So early this evening i traded my ps3 slim for a ps3 60gig fatty. (yeah go ahead and give me s***) on craiglist

I want to own some ps2 games, to build up my game collection. my question is why is it so damn loud? What is thermal paste?

would that ease the fan noise? I havent tried to clean out the vents yets.
