United Kingdom Battlestar Galactica - Finale Question [no spoilers please]

Hi BSG fans...

I've been slowly working my way through the entire series boxset for the last 6 weeks or so (having never seen it before i bought it on the strength of the buzz surrounding it).

I'm now closing in on the final disc...

Over the course of watching it all, i've been keeping an eye on the upcoming episodes, making sure i watch the extended episodes and skipping the normal broadcast versions...

However... I'm a bit confused about the way the episodes are listed on the final disc, which are:
  1. Daybreak - Part 1
  2. Daybreak - Parts 2 & 3
  3. Daybreak - Unaired Extended episode

I'm not sure what i need to watch and what i can skip!

Is the 'extended episode' basically parts 1, 2, & 3 all put together into one long episode? or is it an extended version of just parts 2 & 3... or just part 1... or what????

It seems very confusing

If it's just all 3 parts stuck together into a sort of long movie, why even bother having the episodes on there separately..?

I feel there's something i'm not quite grasping here, and don't want to mess up and either miss some part out, or end up having to watch some part twice

Would appreciate some clarity on this from someone who knows the boxset well

Thanks
