If ever a boxed set showcased the MCU at it's very best, very worst, most lighthearted and most flawed we have it here.

Looking at the films on this and part 1 I'd forgotten how consistently very good to excellent (with one dreary exception) Phase 3 had been.

Been waiting for this! So much cheaper to import these than to buy each movie individually.

These sets might be very simple and don't have all bonus like Middle Earth, but I like them. I'm waiting for the Phase 1 and Phase 2 to be reissued in 4k to start buying.

I would likely pick up a Phase 2 UHD set but knowing that a Phase 1 set would be missing the Iron Man 1 & 2 bonus discs and include the censored Avengers disc kind of ruins it IMO so the individual releases of the Phase 1 films combined with my current Blu-rays will do me for now.

What's the censoring, I know it exists but never heard of it, is it that bad?

The spear that Loki stabs Coulson with, the tip was removed after said stabbing takes place, and was not seen as exiting Coulson's chest.

Disney then lied about it after everyone kicked off, saying this is how it was when "The Avengers" was showing in UK cinemas and that people were misremembering the spear tip, which is total bullc**p.

Honestly the only reason I'd ever even considering getting these Phase boxsets is because of the exclusive bonus discs that come with them. I've never been able to find the Phase boxset bonus discs for sale second hand on their own, and believe me I've tried.

But aside from that, my steelbooks, including the Asian steelbooks for IM1 and IM2 which has their bonus discs, suit me fine.

You forget the UHD of Avengers is the same as the US, so the Blu-ray would be censored but not the UHD.

Based on listings though, they appear to use different discs:

US: English, French & Spanish

UK: English, German & Italian

The 4K release in the UK has the original uncensored version, complete with "The Avengers" titlecard.

However, it is technically a different disc to the US one. Along with the noted language differences, there is a forced subtitle on the aforementioned title card which says "Avengers Assemble".

So any future Phase 1 boxset would in all likelihood be uncensored; you would just have the forced subtitle. You would also be missing the director's commentary, as Disney don't port them to the 4K discs.

The UHD is uncensored but its not the same disc due to the stupid player generated subtitle on the opening card plus the point about the included Blu-ray being inferior to the US disc stands as the UK disc is censored and is missing the audio commentary as well as two other extra features and while they are not ground breaking awesome extras this release is bare bones enough already without loosing even more content.

My Blu-ray set has arrived today from Zoom, never had any dispatch email though. Goes into my unending unwatched pile of shame, along with the other 3 boxsets.

Received a dispatch email just before midnight yesterday and both sets arrived this morning by TNT courier.
