PS3 + Onkyo Audio Question

Hello all, this is my first post although I've done a fair amount of reading on the forums.

I recently bought a PS3 and an Onkyo HT-SR600 theater system. So far, I've been using HDMI output straight to my TV and an optical audio connection straight to my receiver. Now, from what I've read the best I can get out of my 5.1 surround sound system is a Dolby Digital signal because optical cannot support the uncompressed audio formats.

Here is my problem, the PS3 can only send out uncompressed audio (PCM or similar) through the HDMI port, and my receiver does not support HDMI. It does however support an analog audio connection which, from what I've read, does have the bandwidth for PCM uncompressed audio.

Question: Is there by chance a cable/adapter/splitter which splits the HDMI signal from my PS3 as such: 1. Passing the video feed through an HDMI connection to my TV, 2. Passing the audio signal via 5 channel analog connectors to my receiver? Is this even technically possible? Are there any alternative solutions to me getting 5.1 uncompressed audio from my PS3?
