Default HBO titles- Menu Glitch

On my old Sony player, I would have problems once in a blue moon with my "Deadwood" BD where the disc would load up and when the menu comes up, the menu selection never appears. Only the background video shows. So you can't select anything. This easily can be fixed by stopping the disc and playing it again. When the disc boots up again, the menu comes up fine.

At first, I thought it was a compatibility issues with my player and the "Deadwood" discs. But when I recently bought a new Panasonic player, it had the same issue with the "Boardwalk Empire" discs. Again, same solution. Stop and restart the disc and all is well.

I have a hard time believing that I got lucky and just happened to choose the only two players that have the exact same issue with HBO discs.

Anyone else have the same problem with HBO discs? Like I said, it's once in a blue moon and may only happen 1 out of 100 times you load the disc.
