Default Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Blu-ray release

Do you think that when Part 2 actually hits Blu-ray next fall that they will seamlessly branch Part 1 and 2 together so that you do not have to buy them separately? That would be awesome.

I think they will have both. Anything for studios to make money on double dips

I personally won't buy any of the HP movies until they release the "ultra-delux-super-magical box set" (I think that is what they are planning on calling it) containing the entire catalog.

Yep, exactly what I'm waiting for. Once the 2 Deathly Hallows are out, then I'll wait for the UE's complete collection.

Hopefully that comes out around BF next year

I already bought the kinda-cool-diet box set of years 1-5. I'll just pick up the individuals, cuz I'm not buying another box set I don't think.

i'll get the individual ones, because i won't be able to go see DH1 and i will not go see DH2 without having seen them before. and it's not like it's going to be the same time as the normal ones anyway, i wouldn't want to wait a year or more to watch them

but i seriously doubt it'd be both movies together, they'd do them on seperate discs

You sell those, and get the complete set right after.

No - I suspect buying them seperately is sort of the whole idea. I'm sure both will be packaged together, but not on the same disc, and not with seamless branching.

Yes. Right after the "ultra-delux-super-magical box set" is released by Warner, JKR will come out and happily announce the plan to write an 8th book.

A bigger question is that when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray, will they include a sneak preview for Part 2?

lots of spoilery goodness about the end and all of part 1

[Show spoiler]I do not think that they will ever combine the 2 parts nor wouk\ld I wish it to happen. they did end three quarters of the way through the book but the scene with voldemort breaking into dumbledore's grave and basically dry humping him and then getting the elder wand i think was spectacular. not to mention i think there will be a recap of sorts at the beginning of the next.

i was surprised not to see gringotts but i guess dobby's death was a good place to end the character's for this movie.

i did notice the pace was slowed down a lot. thank god. but the dursley's seemed a lot more rushed and hedwig's death was more noble if i remember correctly.

After I got my Blu-ray player and HDTV, I traded my HP DVD Trunk Set for the HP Blu-ray Trunk Set and said I'd never buy another Harry Potter film until the über ultimate 8-film collector's set. But then I broke my own rule and bought the sixth one; I liked the lenticular slip.

Back OT, I betcha WB is considering doing Parts 1 and 2 as one movie ONLY for the über set (or whatever it'll be called) which will definitely be AFTER each film is released individually, just like was done with the Kill Bills and the Grindhouse flix. It's a business, and enough of us cinephiles and Harry Potter fans generously oblige them with every new release and upgraded re-released to make every release financially worthwhile. The only thing that I can think of that might hold them up is whether there are any contract conflicts with the casts and production crews of each film preventing WB from combining them.

I'll definitely be hoping we get the epic five hours cut of the movie! It'll be the only way to watch it

Considering how the film is put together, Deathly Hallows will never be one film. Part 1 has a traditional three-act structure to it, even with the abruptness of the ending. It just won't work, piecing the two films together. Plus, I've read some rumors over at a few Harry Potter forums that say that Part 2 might be close to three hours long by itself.

As far as releases go, we'll get a regular Deathly Hallows Part 1 release in either March or April. We'll either get the Ultimate Editions of Phoenix and Prince right before the theatrical release of Part 2 or the home video release of Part 2 in the fall.

I would assume to look for Ultimate Editions of Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2 to be released sometime in 2012, along with probably a boxset that contains the Ultimate Editions of each film in one, self-contant box.

I don't think they'll ever be released as one movie, but a two-pack with both of the parts together will most likely happen. I'm just going to wait for the Ultimate Editions of both.

There's definitely no way they'll be released as one movie, since the picture of the ultimate editions shows them as two seperate releases.

However, like Ooze33 said, it is possible there will be a two-pack.
