Is it decent? Like I said, he wants to stick with all samsung(except speakers) and came across this unit, looks nice, but I dont know the quality of it?? Does anybody have this unit?? Samsung is not known for thier audio, and the price is just under $300, so Im personally thinking its basically one of their HTIB recievers in a pretty case.... am I wrong??

First, it looks AWESOME!

Second, that is his choice if he wants to use this Samsung receiver with all his other Samsung components.
- And at that price, it won't make a single dent in his life right?

* It is a fairly new receiver, but we might see a review of it eventually.
Also, it comes as a full package (HTiB) with all the speakers. And it has HDMI version 1.4 for 3D.

*** Always accept your friend's decisions; they are the ones that live with them afterall... I think.

=> My brother has a 50" Panasonic TV plasma (that I recommended to him) & that he bought with a Panasonic HTiB (all the speakers plus receiver/DVD integrated). Everything was into the package and the price was right! That was a deal between him and the dealer, he took it. ...And I never objected it to it. I said "Claude, you had a great deal!"
Plus his room doesn't allow him to have big speakers and he's not into big sound either. He likes simplicity...

>>> Of course, an Onkyo TX-SR608 receiver would be a much better bet!
...That you can tell your friend that Bob (LOTR) said so.
