Well, my father called me up a few months ago and said: "I need to update my TV...what do you recommend?
Of course, we couldn't stop there - huh? Hehehe... Well, he had an old Mitsubishi box projector TV, an ancient Pioneer receiver (the only type of video it supported was composite!!!) and a 5-disk DVD player from Cyber Home (whoever the hell that is!!!) The equipment took up so much of the room, that moving it, packing it or throwing it away freed up so much space! First things first - the display! We found this smoking hot deal at Sam's: And a great Omnimount for $99 - which I installed on the wall where the old gear used to be. The receiver was a littler trickier - we were on a budget- luckily we found this rock solid Denon at Ultimate Electronics, who price matched Best Buy's special price! We're upgrading his bookshelves with a Pinnacle QP 7-Element slimline sound bar (that I am able to get at my work) - which looks like this: ![]() and most likely a 10-inch sub that will go below the gear. I'm also getting him a 3-rack wall mount for the gear to sit on, so everything will be off the floor. Some cable management will cover all the loose cables, but here's the progress pic: Looks like a happy guy already! Can't wait to finish the project - I'll update the thread when it's all finished! |
