Default Time's effect on movies.

Time. It's something that can have a clear effect on a film. Did you see The Birds when it came out, or recently? Did you like a movie when you first saw it, but time has worn it's luster? I am almost hesitant to write reviews on movies after first seeing them unless I am absolutely positive that my opinion will not change. Stuff that is of lighter fare seems to fall into that description. Drama, not so much.

Over the years of watching films, I can think of a few films that I didn't like at first, and now are among my favorites. A few off the top of my head: There Will Be Blood, Pan's Labyrinth, and Office Space. It also works the other way around. I remember thinking Home of the Brave was quite moving, but after a week or so, and over time, I think it's changed.

The other factor of time is actual timing. When watching movies deemed "classics", one has to put the movie into perspective of the time. Many films will cop elements after such classics are released, and if you've seen them before said classic, it could lessen the impact. (For example I had seen Scary Movie before The Usual Suspects.)

So what say you, movie viewer? How has time changed your opinion of a movie? Or has it?
