Probably because it wasn't made in high definition....I doubt it was filmed in such a way that they can go back and remaster it for any benefit....

The DVD releases are the only thing holding me back from buying them.

It's all standard-def material, so there's really no point.

Well, there could be a practical point in releasing the entire series on a single BD50 disc instead of spreading it out over 6 DVDs. And they could even upconvert it to 1080i where the picture quality could be slightly better than straight up DVD quality. Maybe the audio could get improved as well.

But yeah, this will almost certainly never happen seeing as how shows that are actually HD don't get releases on blu ray. And I don't ever remember a SD TV show getting released on blu ray for these practical reasons anyway. So you might as well just get the DVDs, which is what I did.

why cant they fix it up like other old tv shows on blu ray like twilight zone and lost in space etc...?

Because Twilight Zone and Lost In Space were shot on 35mm film.

Not everything needs to be on Blu-ray. Chappelle's Show is never gonna look/sound great. Weirdly enough, whenever I watch the DVDs, I still think the show is funny.
