Just recieved an email from these guys ...uses the same name as Columbia House but the 60% off deal isnt listed and i couldnt sign in with my account from the other site ..anyone know what this is about ?

If you use Google to seach Columbia House Canada, quite a few sites pop up. Watch out for spoofs and identity thefts. I don't know which one is legit anymore. It is so easy to set up a site that looks similar, prompts you for ID and password which then give them access to your legit account and personal information. Need to be really careful these days.

I got it too! ...I stupidly tried logging onto the site with my columbia house password so I quickly changed that

Sure I did,
It's the electronic christmas card from CH, and at the end it says please visit our new site CHCanada.com
I think it's a parallel thing for the moment, like a place you can buy without being a member, and I think it will replace someday the original club thing. But I'm not sure of course.
It's definitively not the same thing and it's normal that you can't log. It's asking for email and pass.

By the way thecardman23, there's pretty good prices on this new site so it's kind of a hot deal too :-)

Did a WhoIs search and I don't believe it even is the same company. Cannot prove it but has all the markings of a scam. Phone them up or phone up the real ColumbiaHouse and see if they have such a parallel site. I bet you that it ain't legit. If you have attempted to login, my advice is to immediate change your password.

Yeah but i did a test with the e-mail and unsubsribe the special offer e-mail. Then I went to regular CH site in my account and the option was uncheked...
So It really seems to be a real CH email.

Reading the the HELP page is instructive and it's same adress then old CH. It's a new way to shop at CH. You have to pay 5,99$ to be a member (one time only) and your comitment is to buy 2 titles a year at ANY price. That's it. 1,99$ fee to ship 1 or 2 titles, 3+ is flat rate 5,99.

Sounds good to me. Maybe it's why we have this incredible offer on the web at old CH site. Maybe it's the end of this site soon...

I have just joined as a new member at www.chcanada.com and the $5.99 fee was waived. I bought Kung Fu Panda Blue Ray for $13.99 + $1.99 shipping. There are a few other selections at $13.99 (Tropic Thunder) but not that many. Will let you know how the order went.

Hey guys, sorry to jump in here out of nowhere, but I work for Columbia House Canada / CHCanada.com out in Scarborough, Ontario. I just googled “CHCanada.com” and found this discussion.

We just launched CHCanada.com (in Nov) as our new club website (in Canada only). For the time being, it’ll exist in addition to Columbia House but the two clubs are very different and you won’t be able to use your Columbia account info on CHCanada.com

Basically, the big difference is that CHCanada is a members-only online store that does NOT send members any products automatically (unlike Columbia House). Pay $5.99 up front (this fee is currently waived, so it’s free to join for now) and then you can access our discounted prices whenever you want. You need only buy 2 DVDs or Blu-rays (priced $5.99+) for each year you remain a member.

And no, you don’t need to enter a special code to have your membership fee waived. This is just a special promotion to coincide with the website launch. So if you were thinking of joining, now’s the time! (Sorry guys, I know this sounds like a hardcore marketing pitch…..not gonna lie: it is. LOL)

Thanks for the clarification. How long will it take for an order to be fulfilled. If I place an order today, is it possible to tell if the titles ordered are in stock or not?

Just read your posting. I ordered 2 blu-rays on Mon am. Within a short time I received a confirmation email. Received the discs in Thursdays mail.

I still have to get 2 titles from my ColumbiaHouseCanada account.. If I get two titles from CHCanada, do I still have to get 2 from ColumbiaHouseCanada to fulfill that agreement? Or do the CHCanada ones count?

Hi Lolo,

Thanks for the information regarding the new site. One question I have concerns the disc covers. For example, Columbia House often has English only covers, as opposed to English/French:

English/French

I would think your inventory would be the same as CH but I wanted to make sure that your discs contained only English text or if there was a way to figure this out before ordering.
