Superb news! Do you know if the blu-ray will have the English audio, and also the French audio with English subtitles?

the movie was shot twice, eah take in french and in english. So There are two original negatives. the french actors talk in english during a take, and then they were dubbed later by american actors except for Delon who dubbed his own voice as he was fluent in English.

Hopefully French with English subs will still be an option (the Korean DVD i owned had this option) I doubt this will get a UK or US release.

The Amazon.fr listing for 'The Sicilian Clan' states that it will have 2 versions of the film: the French version and the English version. So as long as there are no forced or burnt in French subtitles, this is good news!

I hoping that English subs are selectable for the French version, but I'd take the English language version if as you say, they aren't forced or burnt in. Any news on the 'Meliodie en sous sol' blu ray?

Nothing as yet. I'm just going on what's stated in the Amazon.fr listings.

According to an user at antother forum the italian blu-ray, also by Fox, has Spanish subtitles for both versions and a Spanish dub for the french version. The back cover image at amazon.es indicates just French, Italian & English subtitles and region-free status. I am asuming the french disc would be the same.

Yes, it is always a question of what to do in a situation like this. The Italian listing at amazon shows English subs and Region A&B, while the amazon.fr listing shows no English subs and Region B only. Hopefully, now that the Blu is on the shelf in France someone can tell us what is what regarding the Region Code.

So the Italian blu ray has the film in French with English subtitles. Is that correct?

The French release of 'The Sicilian Clan' arrived today and is a very sturdy digibook. I haven't actually checked the discs yet, but the rear of the digibook states that the blu-ray is Region A, B, C. The French version has French audio with French, English or Italian subtitles. The English version has English or Italian audio with French, English and Italian subtitles.

I actually have the French disk already but as it's an Xmas present I haven't got my hands on it yet, I bought it on the off chance it had subs ( I knew it had the English dub) but did really wanted the French spoken/English subs. Made my day

Thanks, I've been anticipating your informative review of this title! Will you be able to review any of the other Pathe Classics released at the same time?

Hey Django,

Yes, but later this month. Because of the Zatoichi box set, which took 3 weeks to cover, I am behind with my coverage. The Marty Scorsese box sets from Criterion and Masters of Cinema also have multiple films and this complicated things this month quite a bit.

But you don't need to worry. We will have reviews for the French discs on our site.
