the movie was shot twice, eah take in french and in english. So There are two original negatives. the french actors talk in english during a take, and then they were dubbed later by american actors except for Delon who dubbed his own voice as he was fluent in English.

I hoping that English subs are selectable for the French version, but I'd take the English language version if as you say, they aren't forced or burnt in. Any news on the 'Meliodie en sous sol' blu ray?

According to an user at antother forum the italian blu-ray, also by Fox, has Spanish subtitles for both versions and a Spanish dub for the french version. The back cover image at amazon.es indicates just French, Italian & English subtitles and region-free status. I am asuming the french disc would be the same.

So the Italian blu ray has the film in French with English subtitles. Is that correct?

The French release of 'The Sicilian Clan' arrived today and is a very sturdy digibook. I haven't actually checked the discs yet, but the rear of the digibook states that the blu-ray is Region A, B, C. The French version has French audio with French, English or Italian subtitles. The English version has English or Italian audio with French, English and Italian subtitles.

Yes, but later this month. Because of the Zatoichi box set, which took 3 weeks to cover, I am behind with my coverage. The Marty Scorsese box sets from Criterion and Masters of Cinema also have multiple films and this complicated things this month quite a bit. But you don't need to worry. We will have reviews for the French discs on our site. ![]() Pro-B |
