I want to get the two Christopher Nolan Batman movies but I am thinking that Warner will probably release a really deluxe trilogy box set with all three movies once The Dark Knight Rises comes out. Do you think it would be worth it to hold out on a super set of this trilogy?

why wait until x-mas 2012 to get 2 awesome movies??
i've never understood that. it's not like you wouldn't be able to sell them if a trilogy box set is released, there are always gonna be people looking for cheaper copies when super-sets like that are released. |

Since it won't be another 2 years before "Batman 3" comes out, I'd just pick up 1 & 2 cheap. If you buy them for like $9 each now, you can't really regret selling them at a loss if you want a proper box set in 2012 since you didn't pay all that much to get them.

Why do you need anyone to answer this question for you?
Actually no, don't. Wait untill 2024, when you can have a a six film boxset. May be a long wait, but you'll be glad you saved an extra 30 bucks 14 years ago. Last edited by J-Syxx; 10-27-2010 at 11:23 PM. |

My opinion? At this point in the game, pick up the two existing Nolan movies. They are really great titles to own, and can be had cheaper than ever - $10 to $15. If we were very close to the time of the BD release of The Dark Knight Rises, only then it might be worth it to wait, and then, the "trilogy box set" might set you back $50 or a lot more.

chances are, the "box set" will come in a cardboard slipcase that goes over the 3 movies that are individually cased (a la Resident Evil / X-Men trilogy) with no new features, but a much higher price tag because it comes in a new cardboard case

Wait until 2040 and mega-ultra-HD comes out with the "classic" Batman movies set on literal thumbnail-drives that you attach to your finger like Lee's press-on nails to beam directly into your brain.
Or buy them now for about $10 each and enjoy! |
