nice but got the blue underground release a few months back.
doubt shameless release will look any better.

I watched this yesterday (that being Halloween) via Netflix Instant in the U.S., and while the film had some very interesting moments of eroticism and violence, the narrative itself was awful, and left to much explanation conveniently until the end. It has also been cited as a misogynistic film, and while I don't necessarily agree with that, the film doesn't really amaze enough as a horror to excuse it's very depressing plot.

More to the point, I can't see how the BBFC would allow this through uncut, as the violence in The New York Ripper is very much sexualized, and this is still a hot-button issue in the U.K. and really the only type of content still censored out of '18' cert films in very recent years.

Nice to see Shameless get into the Blu-ray game, unfortunately this title isn't of any interest to me, since I already have the remarkable BU release. Here's hoping for more Shameless BD announcements soon, they've got some great titles in their collection.

hopefully Shameless will do better jobs on their BDs than they've done on some of their DVDs. The 3 i have all have nasty jaggies/(de)interlacing issues that are even obvious on a 14" CRT set. NTSC to PAL conversions probably.
One of them is Black Cat, a favourite as it was shot where i used to live, and the motorbike footage at the start of the film is shot right by the Dashwood Mausoleum, which was used at the climax of To The Devil A Daughter
