Default In Cold Blood/Capote 2-pack coming in February

2/17/09

Nice! I've been meaning to see In Cold Blood forever, and I love Capote. They should be great on Blu!

That is really expensive... I'd rather they release each film sep in its own case... esp for that price.

I will look into buying it though... it depends on my mood when it comes out.

Capote is a great film, but In Cold Blood isn't very good at all. I'd love for Capote to be in my Blu-ray library, but I'll wait for it to be released individually.

Ebert and I would disagree with you.

I couldn't disagree with you more. In Cold Blood is great filmmaking. If I could only have one of the two, I would go with In Cold Blood.

I'm with you. The original theatrical version of "In Cold Blood" is nothing short of a classic. It is terrific news to see Sony actually releasing this black and white classic to high definition.

Great news! I'll definitely be getting these. In Cold Blood is, of course, a classic but I was really surprised at how good Capote was. I just couldn't imagine anyone playing him without coming off as a ridiculous caricature. However, Philip Seymour Hoffman was brilliant.

Capote is considerably better in my eyes. Hoffman was absolutely sensational, and Collins, Jr. was very strong. The performances are what really elevated Capote for me.

The current dvd of In Cold Blood has some really bad black levels in some of the night shots during the murders. I hope this problem is fixed in the Blue-Ray release.

I liked In Cold Blood. Capote...not so much. Hopefully these will be available seperately.

Add me to the growing list of people saying In Cold Blood is great (if it's the original we're talking about...not the TV remake), and I can easily pass on Capote (though I like P.S.H.).

Count me in too, as a big fan of the original 1967 version of In Cold Blood. I wish Sony would sell it separately, at a lower price.

Well, I can tell you that I loved Capote very much, and I wouldn't have enjoyed or appreciated In Cold Blood as I did, if I had not watched Capote beforehand.

So if you haven't watched ICB, it's a must for you.

I think I will go for them both.

+1. We watched it in high school and I loved it. Didn't really care for Capote though.

I think I saw a preview for In Cold Blood on one of my Sony Blu-rays (or maybe more than one). What about the other movie. Are they connected? Also if you purchased them both together are they each on there own disc? Is there any difference in buying In Cold Blood on Blu-ray by itself or buying it on Blu-ray with Capote besides the fact that you are getting an extra movie if you purchased the 2 movie pack (I am talking about different in picture or sound or bonus stuff about In Cold Blood)?

yes they each have their own disc.
the main problem now is that Sony has released in cold Blood by itself but NOT Capote.
stupid Sony.
(I assume the In Cold Blood disc is exactly the same if you get it separate or with the other film)

Thanks for letting me know. I see that this 2 pack is on sale for $20. So if Capote is not by itself I think I might just go ahead and order them together with Elizabeth: The Golden Age which is also on sale for $10.
