If the unreleased film The Other Side of the Wind, directed by Orson Wells was released today would it be eligible for the Academy Awards?

From what I understand, yes.
For instance, the only foreign films eligible to be nominated are those which were released to theatres in the United States during the fiscal year. That movie may have been released the year before in it's home country, but wouldn't be eligible for an Oscar until an American release occurred. |
