Genesis began life as a progressive rock band with frontman Peter Gabriel, producing works ranging from songs with unusual time signatures and sections to nearly 30-minute long epics such as "Supper's Ready". However, after Gabriel left after "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway", Collins began to take over as lead vocalist of the band. Over time, Collins began to shift the band from progressive rock to mainstream pop/rock, which in turn made the band commercially successful until Collins' departure to pursue his solo career.
So, what I'm asking is who is better as a frontman and leader for Genesis, and who is a better solo artist? Feel free to discuss your reasons right here. ![]() Last edited by GLaDOS; 10-11-2010 at 07:48 PM. |
