"Unhook The Stars" (1996)

Is there any interest in this 1996 underrated gem starring Gena Rowlands and Marisa Tomei? "Unhook The Stars" never gets mentioned or garners any attention whatsoever. It's a light-hearted drama with some comic relief and kind of a feel-good movie by the film's end. Cyndi Lauper contributes 2 songs used in the film including the title track. It always leaves me thinking and has a great message about living your life for others. It has only been on dvd so far but I would absolutely LOVE a BD release.

Being a Miramax Film, I'm not sure if it is part of the current list that Paramount holds along with "Muriel's Wedding" and others. Any info welcomed if anyone knows anything.

I was listening to Cyndi’s Unhook the Stars track yesterday.

Love the Sisters of Avalon album.

I’ve never seen the album but recall the VHS artwork…

Actually this one is probably under Lionsgate now maybe? I know a lot of Miramax titles went to them… oh wait and then they are now under Paramount I think.

I keep hoping Paramount will give us a 4K / Blu for the Miramax / Paramount co-production of THE HOURS

It's a great album! That one track though is just outstanding and fits very well with the film. I won't tell you how it is used in case you want to see the movie. Don't wanna spoil it for you. It always strikes me as so perfect.

I think you are correct about Lionsgate. I see on Amazon that the studio has provided Amazon with the streaming HD of Unhook The Stars. That's unfortunate as Lionsgate is not known for doing deep dives into their old catalog for BD releases. Not sure if they license out to any boutique labels. Unless Paramount does hold the license for physical media. That, I don't know. I just would love to have this movie on BD.

I have always wanted to see The Hours but never got around to it.
