Default Led Zeppelin's The Song Remains The Same.

Does anybody has this one? I've just ordered it without any info about sound or picture quility.
I hope is not as bad as the AC/DC blu-ray.
I would appreciate any info.

I've been hesitant to buy this myself. It's a WB release and they're not exactly known for their 5-star presentation. Couple that with the fact that it was filmed in the early 70's, I wouldn't bank on it being great looking or sounding.

Not sure if you've already checked it out but there's a review up on this site:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movie...31&show=review

Greg Maltz gives it a 3.5 for video and a 4.5 for the audio, which seems consistent with the word of mouth I have a heard on the release.

Hope this helps.

I've owned this on VHS, DVD and now Blu-ray. It's never going to look or sound like a modern concert, but it's definitely the best it's ever looked and sounded. Plus I love the bonus materiel and bonus performances. A must have if you're a Zep fan.

No better way to see the movie unless it's playing at a local theater at Midnight.

So,.. I gave away my DVD version and bought the Blu Ray. I like it.

(It does have an audio glitch though which is well documented in the reviews.)

I'd say so. You can even see the armadillo in Plant's jeans.

For me, no. When it was announced the other day, I rewatched / listened to my 2007 BD of the film, and decided I could just turn off the TV, and have the same thing ! Seriously.
We discussed it to death on another forum, and neither this BD Audio, nor the $250.00 big box offer anything new. Anything. Easy pass for me.

This is an odd one to be the next release. Why not release the studio albums in BDA first or the 2003 DVD as a BD? Weird.

Because its the last of the albums in Jimmy Page's re-issue campaign. Allegedly, this release will be followed by the release of a live concert recording of an unreleased Zeppelin show. It's rumored it may be one of the shows from the 1971 Japanese tour, but only time will tell.

I get the reissue campaign, but it doesn't excite me, really. The blu, the remaster from a few years ago and the original issue cd with the unedited No Quarter and I'm good.

But I'm all in on any new unreleased shows.

What’s this about No Quarter being edited?

Apparently edits were made to "No Quarter" around the time of the 2007 release of the Song Remains The Same set. Why this was done, I dunno. But the 2007 release and the forthcoming one feature an edited version of the song.

Any idea how edited it is? What was cut?

No Quarter is my favorite Zep song and it pains me to know it got butchered

There's a super-awesome hook that JPJ gets into on the electric piano that's 5-6 chords long and repeats and apparently JP (who I love dearly) thought it was irrelevant and cut it out in favor of more guitar. I think the whole track on the 2nd edition is 2 minutes shorter.

The No Quarter on the original album and cd is one of my favorite things they ever did, so the remaster stung.
