I've been hesitant to buy this myself. It's a WB release and they're not exactly known for their 5-star presentation. Couple that with the fact that it was filmed in the early 70's, I wouldn't bank on it being great looking or sounding.

Not sure if you've already checked it out but there's a review up on this site:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movie...31&show=review Greg Maltz gives it a 3.5 for video and a 4.5 for the audio, which seems consistent with the word of mouth I have a heard on the release. Hope this helps. |

I've owned this on VHS, DVD and now Blu-ray. It's never going to look or sound like a modern concert, but it's definitely the best it's ever looked and sounded. Plus I love the bonus materiel and bonus performances. A must have if you're a Zep fan.

No better way to see the movie unless it's playing at a local theater at Midnight.
So,.. I gave away my DVD version and bought the Blu Ray. I like it. (It does have an audio glitch though which is well documented in the reviews.) -Brian |

We discussed it to death on another forum, and neither this BD Audio, nor the $250.00 big box offer anything new. Anything. Easy pass for me. |

Because its the last of the albums in Jimmy Page's re-issue campaign. Allegedly, this release will be followed by the release of a live concert recording of an unreleased Zeppelin show. It's rumored it may be one of the shows from the 1971 Japanese tour, but only time will tell.

There's a super-awesome hook that JPJ gets into on the electric piano that's 5-6 chords long and repeats and apparently JP (who I love dearly) thought it was irrelevant and cut it out in favor of more guitar. I think the whole track on the 2nd edition is 2 minutes shorter.
The No Quarter on the original album and cd is one of my favorite things they ever did, so the remaster stung. |
