Help me identify this HK movie

It was this old movie about cops and gangsters.
The style is similar to "A better tomorrow"... you know... the classic John Woo style movie.
If I remember correctly, Lesile Cheung was in it.

Basically, the only thing I remember clearly is this scene. It was so epic that when I watched it as a kid, I still remember it:

The cop and the gang member are involved in a Mexican standoff. What made this scene unique is that instead of the typical outcome (either they give up or one outsmarts the other), they had a close-range shootout. Both died at the end, it was glorious. Even more glorious especially since I was only a kid when I watched it.

I kinda wanna watch it again. What movie is this? haha
