Default Monoprice Speaker Brackets

I just moved and my HT finally kind of has its own room. I need speaker brackets now and I was wondering what kind of experiences people have had with the Monoprice Speaker Brackets. They are awfully cheap, and right now that is important. Also, where does one find a bracket for a center channel? All of the brackets at Monoprice come in pairs.

No info on the speaker brackets but depending on the size of your center you may need to do a shelf instead of an after market mounting bracket.

I want to buy some (but I get lazy with stuff). I have the speakers now for 7.1 but getting inspired to do the work of installed them never seems to happen.

I also have a monoprice projector mount that I want to replace with a newer monorprice mount because the newer one's look much better (adjustable.)

I was looking for speaker brackets a couple weeks ago, as I wanted to move my L/R speakers from stands to the corners of my room. I eventually went with corner shelves, As I couldn't find brackets that would hold speakers over 15 pounds (that were reasonably priced). I could kick myself for not checking Monoprice, as they have a nice set that will hold up to 33 lbs. You may wish to try these for your center channel. They're only $10.57, which is about 1/4 what you'll pay elsewhere.

I have used both the cheap ones and the ones that hold 33lbs (the one Ricshoe mentioned) from monoprice. The cheap ones are as good as as the "cheap" ones at Best Buy for $29.

The all metal ones that hold 33 lbs are great; you cannot find brackets of this quality at near this price (I looked). I am using this bracket and it has held an 18 lb speaker 2.5ft from the ceiling at a 90 degree angle (puts lots of pressure on thee bracket). The entire mount is metal, so the clamping system can easily hold the weight. You can look at the mount in my gallery.

So it depends on the weight of your speakers since you didn't specify the type. But if it were me, I would get the all metal ones. It isn't that much more expensive. It will not move (ie drop the angle it holds the speaker). And if you upgrade later, you dont have to worry about the mount.

My stuff is pretty basic. The heaviest of all of my speakers are the fronts, the center is pretty small, so I think I could mount it.

Thumbs up

I have been VERY happy with the pair that I got:

Also, I didn't mount the bracket onto the back of my speakers with screws. I used Gorilla Glue! Worked AMAZINGLY well!

I had ordered those brackets a couple of years ago from monoprice. The ones I ordered was a different version number. I never did get around to using them, but was extremely impressed at how they were constructed.

I like that little steel security cable for safety support.

Mine are still in the box and I can't believe it's been over two ago that I ordered them.(I had to view my account on monoprice)

So you're supposed to attach one side of the bracket to the back of the speaker using screws? I'm not sure I like the idea of screwing into a speaker.
