Default HD-DVD Players to be recalled?

sooo....do you think the cheap HD-DVD players coming out of china will be recalled due to excessive amounts of lead-tainted paint?

(fyi: this post is completely tongue in cheek)

On a serious note, the players are probably powder-coated, not painted. Sorry to shoot down your hopes.

Unless you have a habit of licking your equipment, uh, there should be no problems. By the way, my PS3 is made in China. Maybe I'll go take a bite and see how I feel in the morning.

I commented on this earlier, my bet is on the unit overheating and starting a fire.

I heard that the way they are coated they had rat poison in there...and in seven days you die from it, after your phone rings and the guy in a Scream costume comes out from behind the curtain. True story.

No, isn't a company from China going to build bd players?

If anything, they will be recalled because of the plague of issues with HD-DVD disks. I mean, there are disk issues with their good players. I'm guessing 1 in 10 HD-DVD disks will actually load up and play on a Venture player.

It be so funny if HD-DVD players are recalled. Then we'd be able to go to HD-DVD supporters and be like, "Told ya, you should have gone Blu instead"

Does anyone not think how those cheap players tend to have noisy drives, or the player freezing up ? I would never pay up for a cheap player, it has got to have a big name on the front.

I had my wife return store brand apple juice because the concentrate was made in China. The disclosure was not on the label but on the plastic itself printed in blue ink where it is tough to read against an apple juice colored background.

I don't have confidence in certain products made in China.

Funai will build Blu-ray players in China and likely other companies will as well.

Not that I'm a big fan of China, But I've had Harman Kardon, Sony, JVC, and Toshiba DVD players and they all had issues. But the $21.99 Cyberhome I bought from Walmart plays whatever I throw at it.
