Default Irvin Kershner dies at 87

The man that brought one of the greatest sequels of all time to screen has passed away at the age of 87.

Probably the director of the single greatest film ever made. You will be missed.

RIP Irvin.

Just want to try and temper the "he made the greatest film ever!" talk. He did not make the greatest film ever, nor did he make the greatest sci-fi film ever, it's even debatable whether or not he made the best sequel ever.

He directed the best of the Star Wars movies, and that would/should be more than enough for anyone. Let's just not go overboard with the hyperbole.

Don't worry he will always be with us, using his force powers just like Yoda on Qui-Gon Jin did to appear as aparitions.

Hyperbole is when you take an event or a point, etc,etc...and exaggerate on it to make it have more weight then it actually does. "SW:The Empire Strikes Back" when described as "the best sci-fi film" or "best sci-fi sequel ever" is far from hyperbole. Please tell me the other films that even come close to it's standard setting triumph as a film and a sequel in the sci-fi genre?
