Default Shout Factory Grammy nominations

There is no Blu-ray news here, but I decided to share the info anyway:

Quote:
LOS LOBOS, RICHARD THOMPOSON

AND JIMMIE VAUGHAN GARNER

2011 GRAMMY® NOMINATIONS

FOR SHOUT! FACTORY RELEASES

Los Angeles, CA – Shout! Factory artists Los Lobos, Richard Thompson and Jimmie Vaughan have picked up a collective four Grammy® nominations. Los Lobos’ first new album in four years, Tin Can Trust, has been nominated for Best Americana Album, while track "Do the Murray" is up for Best Rock Instrumental. Richard Thompson’s celebrated new album Dream Attic is nominated for Best Contemporary Folk Album, and Jimmie Vaughan’s first release in 9 years, Blues, Ballads, & Favorites picked up a nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album.

Richard Thompson, the brilliant guitarist and songwriter known for his jaw-dropping solos and razor-sharp lyrics, released his new album Dream Attic on September 7 to rave reviews. The new songs were recorded during a West Coast tour in February of this year, and the bulk of the performances that made the album come from three shows at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. Dream Attic was greeted with a great deal of critical praise, with UNCUT describing it as “extraordinary playing and sharply observed songwriting,” SPIN declaring his “guitar tone as recognizable as Dylan's voice,” and Rolling Stone writing “…Thompson’s guitar is the star: rippling and roaring.” A recent recipient of the Les Paul Award at the 2010 MOJO Honours Awards, Thompson also recently had the distinction of being the Artistic Director of the 17th Meltdown festival in the UK earlier this year.

Guitar-slinging Texan legend Jimmie Vaughan, released his first new studio album in 9 years, Blues, Ballads and Favorites, in July of 2010. Produced by Vaughan in Austin, the album consists of Vaughan’s hand-picked favorites, including covers of songs by artists such as Little Richard, Jimmy Reed, Willie Nelson, Roy Milton, and Roscoe Gordon, each with special meaning to him. Also included is Vaughan’s own “Comin’ & Goin’,” a self-penned instrumental. On tour throughout the summer and fall to support the new album, stops included Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival, and appeared for a surprise performance at the Dallas stop of Conan O’Brien’s “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour.”

Tin Can Trust is Los Lobos’ first collection of new original material in four years, and it has been met with rave reviews from venerable sources such as NPR, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal and MOJO, among others. On Tin Can Trust the revered quintet once again redefines itself and expands its scope, while never losing sight of where they come from. In the wake of radio success with their first single “Burn It Down” and their #47 debut on the Billboard Top 200, the band performed songs from the album on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Lopez Tonight” earlier this year. Los Lobos has also been confirmed to perform “On Main Street” on “Conan,” on December 21, and will be touring with Eric Clapton in February and March.

The 53rd Grammy® Awards are scheduled for February 13.
