Default What BF Deals Did You Pass On?

What Black Friday deals did you pass on? (not movies you already own)

LOTR 1/2/3 for $7.99 each - Waiting on extended version
BTTF - No desire to see these 80s flicks again
Hannibal Lector Anthology - Already own silence of the lambs, poor transfer on others
Battlestar Galactica (today) - Broke from BF wish I could afford this set
Several others - discounts less than 70%

I was very tempted by The Hannibal Lecter Anthology. I already have Silence of the Lambs and did not care at all for Hannibal so $18 was still a little too steep for Manhunter alone. But only a little.

$25 was also too steep for the only BttF entry I want (the first, of course). Not that I would have gotten that price anyway.

I'm also going to pass on Battlestar today. $120 is a great price but I can see individual seasons popping up in B1G1 sales over the next year (which is probably how long it would take me to get around to rewatching them).

Oh, I'm also likely skipping Firefly. I like Nathan Fillion in general and liked Serenity well enough but I can't see blind buying this without at least checking a few out via Netflix instant (which I probably won't remember to do before the sale ends this week).

edit #2 - Totally forgot about Nurse Jackie - ten bucks was verrrrrrrrrrrry tempting but I ultimately said no. If both seasons were on sale I probably would have caved.

discs that i 'passed' up on....

- Nurse Jackie - at $9.99 / BSG - from either Amazon UK or US = just didn't have 'time' to invest in another TV show (more so after purchasing 3 seasons of Mad Men !)

- anything that I had already on DVD (Leon, The Wrestler)

- Blu-rays that 'lacked' extras - Drag Me To Hell !!

- titles that just didn't 'drop' that little bit extra = Where The Wild Things Are

Whilst there are a few other titles that I couldn't be bothered with, there must be some 'thoughts' by many consumers as to 'why' prices like what we saw during Black Friday can't be maintained, or kept near these low prices.

Nurse Jackie went from 9.99 to 24.99 - Community season 1 - $10.00 to $26.99.

Hey... its only another 360+ days to the next sale .... I'll wait til then

I literally got 'everything' except Firefly. Not that I don't want it, but it's going to take me until next BF to watch most of what I bought.

The Aliens Anthology, once it drops to $45 I may think about buying it. I still think $70 is way tooo expensive

It came down to either Rocky: The Undisputed Collection or The Die Hard Collection, both at a stealing price, but could only afford one so I chose Rocky.

There were a whole lot of DVDs in my cart but I couldn't afford them and now I kick myself for not getting them because several have jumped up $20 more.

I passed on the bold ones. I hated Return of the King so I didn't buy it. Never really liked the first BTTF, and I've never seen the others. Never had any desire for the Hannibal one, I have Rising and I bought Silence for my stepdad. I kinda wanted to get BG, but I've never seen it. The price was great, I may get it after Christmas. I'll netflix it, but I'm broke too. I may still get Dr. Strangelove though.

Alien Anthology
$70 is still too much, IMO.
