Default The Wine Thread

I see there's a Beer Thread and Scotch/Whiskey thread, but no Wine thread.

Thought I might start one off to share some suggestions and recommendations.

I recently tried ERATH, which is a red (Pinot Noir) from Oregon and I really enjoyed it.

As I get older, I find myself drinking more wine than I do beer.

I did used to like drinking beers, but preferred stouts (my favourite was Mackeson stout beer. It comes in small cans compared to the usual sized beer cans). Beer doesn't suit me now, so now, occasionly I drink wine (favourite type is medium sweet white wine, although they don't stock many of those in the supermarket (I like the old German wines like Piesporter).

There was another good medium sweet white wine called Crown of Crowns, but I don't think it's made now.

Oooh, maaaan... why do we have to have THIS threaaaad?

(Re-reads the title)

Oh, "wine". Not "whine". My bad.

Regardless, I'd be interested in reading what people have to say about wine. I don't drink it much, but I fear that if I fell in love with it, that would be another money sink. I get a bottle a year, usually.
