Default why isn't a digital copy included with Watchmen anymore?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001FB55H6

the price is incredible, but why did they take out the digital copy? I know a lot of people never use them but I find them to be very important with blu-ray. I only have one player but I could watch the digital copy anywhere and on the go which you can't usually do with just the blu disc.

Because they only come with the first pressing and so does slipcovers to lower factory costs in the future and make more incentive for people to buy it when it is first released. Also gets costly to keep the servers up for the digital copies after a while.

Limted time only. They also expire pretty quickly.

Different publishers set dfferent limits, although I'm surprised to learn Watchmen cut it so soon. Matrix 10th anniversary came out in March; I bought a copy in late August and the digital copy worked without a problem. Both are Warner, so who knows? Asking for logic from a studio that makes auto-play with lossy tracks as the default...

This is typical with Warner, snooze you looze

As the price gets cheaper, the extras disappear

Sorry,.. but Digital Copy is an extra.

Plus... Read folks. The discs that have Digital Copies always state "for a limited time" and on the back they usually mention when they expire.

I hate digital copies because the only digital copies I have is stuff I have on Blu Ray and I would rather watch it on Blu Ray than as a digital copy but I load them all into my itunes just for the heck of it.

If they arent considered a 'Bonus' I dont know what else would be. Not all movies have them nor are they required, thats why I consider them an extra

Everyone should ditch the digital copy and just do what disney is doing with its platinum/diamonds. Give us the DVD. That way I can make my own digital copy with zero DRM that will play on my PSP.

Also, it really sucks that warner is cheaping out so fast. Though I despise digital copies enough to discount them as being actual extras, I am not so quick to discount Watchmen's digital copy. From what I understand, the digital copy is the theatrical cut of the film. And an alternate cut is most definitely not a useless extra.

Seconded. I would much rather have the DVD. First off you can make your own drm-free digital copy from a DVD using freeware tools. Second... DVD players are so popular a DVD version can be practical.

But .. Most of all.... The DVD that the digital copy comes on is worthless after you download the DC or after it expires and it's just garbage at that point. I will never watch my Digital copies because it's all stuff I have on Blu Ray but since I paid for them I do download them and then to protect them I have to back them up onto ........... a DVD!

Digital copies should be outlawed it's that simple but luckily for anyone who likes them, I don't get to make those decisions.

It's an extra, and a useless one that increases the cost of the Blu that I want.

I wish that they would ditch the DC and the slip-covers and just release the damn movie.

And WB always loses these quickly. Lots of members were complaining that theTales of the Black Freighter came without a DC or slipcase when they ordered it from WBShop with Watchmen. With WB, if you want the slipcover and DC, get it on release day.

I like digital copies. I put them on my laptop so I can watch the movie if I am going somewhere, like if I am in a car or on a plane. Somewhere where I cannot watch the actual blu ray.

I have to agree that should just get rid of the digital copy. This morning I decided to put a digital copy onto my PSP, but found out you can't since they have a disclaimer saying: "Doesn't work on iPod, Playstation Portable or Zune." So what good is it then??

I just ordered a copy from Amazon myself (great price!) and I was under the impression that it included a digital copy. Oh well, it'd be a nice bonus but it's not the end of the world.

They would charge you the same regardless. You're not paying anything extra for either feature

I also like and use the digital copies. I have not bothered with trying to make a drm-free copy with freeware, so dc's are a plus for me. I am not sure about all of them, but I have been able to dl some of the supposedly expired copies into itunes without a problem. It does suck that some will work only with wmp, while others work with both wmp or itunes. I wish the discs would still be of some us after they are used, and maybe somehow, they will be in the future. If I wasn't so anal about having an empty slot in a case, I'd get all the dc discs and create coasters out of them or some type of collage to hang on the wall.

I have an extra copy of Watchmen that is up for trade that has the slipcover and an unused digital copy. The digital copies can be downloaded usually within the first year, but I guess I should check to see if it has expired already.

Really?

What was retail for Watchmen on release dat? What is it now? Did the initial pressing have the slipcover and DC? Does the current one have it?

Prices drop after release date. DC and slipcovers disappear after release date.

It isn't free. There is a cost. And the cost gets passed along to us.
