Default "Wolverine & the X-Men" Complete Season 1 coming to BD

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Wol...Season-1/13932

Rumor Mill news that Lionsgate will bring the Complete First (and presumably only) Season of the NickToon's series Wolverine & the X-Men to both DVD and BD on Oct. 12th.

Cool! But I'll probably just get it on DVD unless I can find it for a super good price on BD.

Yeah, maybe same here, but hopefully the BD price will be reasonable.

Good thing Disney has the rights to the '90's cartoon.

Did you read the article? Apparently the show has been at the very least halted as the funding for the planned second season is in limbo. So this initial season will probably be its only season.

Already confirmed the second season isn't happening. Which sucks, given the end of Season 1.

I bought the DVDs so far... but will probably upgrade, and give my DVDs to my Brother.

I really hope this comes through. I was buying the volumes because I didn't expect there to be a season set, but I'll gladly dump them for a BD.

He's not talking about further seasons of Wolverine. He's saying that this will probably not sell well, and will ruin any future plans for Blu's of other shows, like X-Men from the 90s. I happen to agree with him.

This is good to hear; I wasn't counting it given the (never a good idea) scattered DVD eps, but now they're doing it right. Funny thing is, on the PSN there's highly compressed 720p eps of Wolverine and the X-Men available, but this is much better. WHat would be really cool is if the blu-ray release used BD-Java to have a choice to make the episodes "Massive" like they aired on Nicktoons recently.

We'll see. Lion's Gate is a good supporter of blu-ray and has been since always. I wouldn't count on their being good hi-def masters of 90s X-Men; but it would be cool.

More or less confirmed, but I urge fans to write to Marvel/Disney/Viacom and to buy these BDs in hopes of a reversal.

Disney only just finished releasing the '90s X-Men on DVD and has only begun on other Marvel toons from that era, and whether or not this Lionsgate sells well will probably not influence Disney much considering how long it has taken for this much progress. And besides the DVDs don't look that great and Disney isn't going to invest in restoring them even if they're one of the only companies who can afford to. As for this series, I don't care for it enough to get the DVDs or the blu, but I'll give it props for being the only recent X-Men media to be honest about it's focus on Wolverine.

Same here.

I watched the start of it, but never got around to following it later, and was too lazy to Netflix the DVDs. Will definitely buy so I can finally watch.

Hope this is true and it sucks that the show won't be coming back for a second season.

Yes, that would be very much appreciated if both seasons made it to blu-ray. I thought the show was great despite some fickle comments from some friends of mine concerning the character art. The action was incredible for one, you guys know what I'm talking about if you've seen the episode when the sinister six attack the symbiote-attached Spider-Man.

Haven't watched this show yet, but this makes me very happy, will buy after I netflix the first few volumes to make sure I like the show. Wish Batman The Brave and The Bold, Ben 10/Alien Force/Ultimate Alien and other cartoons/animated series would get similar treatments.

Yeah, I was skeptical about the animation style of The Spectacular Spider-Man too at first, but it's actually a very good presentation of the Spider-Man universe. I loved the action and well-placed humor in it.

the reason why they keep it simple line art is to save cost. look at batman TAS or XM early 90s cartoon. way2much time. that's why later incarnations were faster, cause it looks simpler.

New news on this release...http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Wol...e-Series/14102

Basically, a name change from "The Complete Season One" to "The Complete Series"

And here's the preliminary cover art for the DVD release...BD art not available yet, as the DVD art isn't final.
