Glad I don't have any cards with an RFID chip on board.

Yeah, that's the issue with RFID. ITS ALWAYS ON.

If they really want people to be able to make purchases quickly then biometric would be the way.

Scary stuff. I hope there's a way to shield important cards.

So, with this kind of thing starting up, do people still want microchip implants?

Don't they make a wallet that blocks the signal?

I'm sure some company is on it. Hopefully it's not expensive.

I new I had read something a few months ago about them. Found one on Amazon.

I wonder if they make a hat to block the chip the aliens put in my brain?

That looks sweet! Not too stylish. I might get one, "IF" there's going to be an increase of crime stealing CC #'s.

As for the Aliens. You're not going to wear that hat when you are sleeping when they abduct you.

Just another thing to worry about.

If this does become an epidemic for theft ... I can see all wallets\purses having this embedded soon. There could be a new boom for that industry.

This isn't really new but good to make people aware. This is the reason that the passport/drivers license combination was scrapped up here after millions were spent, just too easy to steal the info and with your passport info there too the risk is too high.

Isn't any Chip card a threat ... they seemed to indicate it needed to have a symbol like this ))) ... but I think they are wrong. Aren't any chip cards a issue? They are all RFID ... aren't they?

Another thing I just thought about ... mail ... couldn't a potential theft steal your credit card # and info even without opening your mail? It would be especially easy if it were a postal worker.

The ))) symbol is one way to identify an RFID-embedded card. RFID credit cards are used by three corporations: American Express, Discover and VISA (I think Mastercard is the lone exception). Technically speaking, any card issued by these three corporations are vulnerable to identity theft, and I'm very worried as a card holder.

It's not just postal workers: anyone with access to a credit card reader and netbook can do this. Heck, you don't even need to open someone's mailbox anymore: just walk casually by with the reader in a shoulder bag or backpack, stand nearby the mailbox and presto! Amazon shopping spree, here I come!

I will if you start a new thread with the subject "Someone stole my identity!!!" two months from now.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to retreat to my cabin in the woods.....
