Turkey Goodkat's living room

greetings from Turkey.
I am a cinema enthusiast and new to the forum. I decided to upgrade my HT setup couple of months ago and I though why wouldnt I share it with forum members who might also give me ideas for better results.

first of all, I live in an apartment and dont have a dedicated cinema room. so my objective was having the best layout without compromising the comfy look and feel of the room. the living room is 430 feet square and most of it occupied with seating and HT

so my setup is as below
Emotiva XPR-5 Power
Marantz AV8801 Pre/Pro
Klipsch RF-7II fronts
Klipsch RC-52II center
Klipsch RF82-II surround
40" Sammy panel
playstation for blu-rays
egreat android media box

once I realized I spent some bucks for the sound, I noticed my screen looked tiny between my speakers so last week I decided to buy 120" Elite Screen Vmax2 screen and Epson TW5910 projector. (better photos to be uploaded)
installation in progress...

I thought for a second that my wife was going to moan about how big the screen is but viola she liked it. the funniest thing is my cat wasnt even looking at the sammy screen now he is watching all the movies with high attention, I sometimes open nat geo and he loves watching big cats on the screen )

very recent update, I changed my Ecosse RCA cables between XPR5 and AV8801 with Blue Jeans Belden 1800f XLR cables and I am amazed with the results. I will install my speaker cables from blue jeans within this week and hope they will sound nice as well. cables not organised well but I will do it once I change my stand

so whats next step?
-my stand is cheap ikea stand which is not functional at all. the way emotiva and Marantz look bothers me at the moment so I will have a custom stand designed by my wife. I ordered set of spikes for it and probably it will be finished in couple of weeks.

-I ordered Oppo 105 as blu-ray player which I will have end of next week. I will listen all my music and run blu-rays thru Oppo

-My sub is very old and unable to keep up with my klipschs. I am on a hunt for Sunfire HRS-12. (open for any recommendations)

Montster Signature HTS 5100 surge protection and voltage regulator to keep everything running smooth

Klipsch RC-64II
[Show spoiler]as it has been illustrated in my stand design
as I already started to feel lack of depth in conversations with movies.

I really liked the sound of Emotiva and Marantz av8801 and in longer run I would like to add XPR-2 to drive fronts and add 2 surround back speakers to upgrade from 5.1 to 7.1

new to forum and community, appreciate your comments and thoughts, more photos are in my ht gallery and to be posted.

regards

I'll be the second (make that third)! Welcome mr.goodkat.

I very much like the stand your wife designed, although I'm personally not a fan of the heavy grain pattern. However, that's a moot point as you do and that's what it's all about. It looks to be very functional with plenty of room for changes and/or additions.

The room overall looks fantastic and I really like what you've done. Enjoy your HT room!

Now as far as your rack is concerned ........

Will it afford you the space for future expansion ? I see you're contemplating another power amp and optical drive.

already planned that Main area has a height of 21" so xpr 5 and xpr2 on top of it will go in there. side wings are 8" height so AV8801 will fit on right wing.
oppo 105 with my PVR on left wing as its been illustrated. I can put Ps3 on top shelf near by center speaker, only problem is hts5100

Good evening Mr. G. That is a lovely looking home and HT gear you have put together. It says class from every angle. I'm an old school Klipsch owner but if I were to upgrade I would own the RF7 II also. BTW you type very good English. Are you an American transplant living in Turkey?

hello hometheatergeek. thanks for your kind words. I owned rf82s for about a year and after a certain point I felt I needed more and since I like how klipsch sounds I bought rf7s. I am very happy with the performance so far and although they are two way speakers, the crossovers have been set beautifully that you get the lack of mid tones very rarely. the only downside for me was the cost, unfortunately Turkey is tax heaven and a pair of rf7s costs $6000 whereas it is $3000 in States.

I dont know where I will be with these speakers in 2 years time but I always blink one eye to Paradigms

I am Turkish, born in Turkey, educated in Turkey as well. I always thought my english sucks, thanks for the compliment
