Default There may be a problem with my Sony BDPS-370

Okay so I just bought this player on Black Friday, it has the newest updates but I could swear that sometimes it looks like there is an audiosyncing problem with the video. It looks like the audio is not running at the same time as it should be.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks in advance for the help

how do you have it set up to the TV? Are you going thru an AVR or direct to the TV?

If you have power cycled the HDTV and Blu-ray player and you are still seeing a audio sync issue then you can fix the problem by adjusting the audio gap in the Blu-ray player. See page 18 in the Sony BDP-S370 manual. It shows you how to adjust the audio delay from 0 to 120 milliseconds. Sometimes HDMI handshaking does not work out and a audio sync problem can occur. Before making the adjustment, try another Blu-ray title. It could be just a problem with only one Blu-ray title.

The good news is the S370 has a adjustment to AV Sync.

The bad news is you often need it.

My PS3 has no such adjustment and co-incidentally has never needed it.

I noticed AV Sync problems with my S370 the very first time I used it.

(It's still my main player though.)

I think you push "options" on the remote and you will see it come up in a menu on the right hand side of your display.

I am really annoyed that this will be a persistant issue with this player. I read so many good things about it but this is just annoying. Do you think we will get an update in the future where this will not be an issue?

HDMI handshaking is a all or nothing deal. Its about allow , or not, the entire stream (audio+video). I would attribute any syncing inherent in a player product to something along the lines of buffering and poor electronics introducing delay on the video stream.

Unless of course the disc in question was an original pressing of Saving Private Ryan, which has a known audio sync issue. Other titles may also have similar sync issues, but none come immediately to mind.
