Default Do You Use All of Your Phones Features?

i have a blackberry curve, and have had it since March 9th, but lately i've been trying to figure out if it's worth it. i mean, it's a nice phone, and it's nice to have the internet when i need it (data plan), but overall i barely use the damn thing and it seems like i'm wasting money.

everyone tells me that i have the cheapest blackberry plan ever (around $60 because i barely use it - monthly limits - 300 minutes and 250 texts) and that i shouldn't complain and wouldn't be able to find much cheaper especially with having such a nice phone, but i haven't really looked.

i sometimes use pandora, but otherwise, as for all the features that a phone can do, i feel like i have such an expensive phone but it's foolish because i barely use anything that comes with it.

anyone feel like this as well?

i have a bunch of friends that always buy the newest phone and waste money every month just so they have the "newest" technology, i would never do that. seems foolish.

No. I don't have time to bend my neck looking down at a phone all day. I only use my Apps, and I check my email only when I'm away from work, or home.

I only have 200 text messages on my iPhone plan.

whoa! i thought i was the only person who used less than 3645272 text messages a month!
and how do you have 200? who do you go through? i have u.s. cellular, and 250 is the lowest they offer

I have ATT. My data plan is still unlimited since I own the iPhone 3G. I didn't want to pay $20 for unlimited text messages because it's a feature that I don't use much. It's either you call, email, or if you're a member here. You PM me.

LeAnn doesn't have text messages at all. She has the iPhone 4. Only way you contact her is email, and facebook.

that's a good way to save money.

i like that all blackberry users can have blackberry messenger, which is essentially texting but it's not a text, no limit and just counts as my unlimited data plan so i use that - if friends have a blackberry.

most of my friends though hate using email so they try and text, to which they get zero response

I have the iPhone 4 on AT&T. This is my first smartphone and I only have the 2gig data plan and 200 text messages. I only use my phone once in a while for apps on weekends to find places to eat or hang out and a few calls per month. I hardly ever use more than 100 texts per month and only use about 300mb of data per month.

I do get a corporate discount with my phone plan so it's not too bad. I am on a family plan with my mom with 550 minutes and 2gig data + 200 text on my phone only. My mom just uses a regular phone for calls. Costs me about $86 per month.

I really only use the internet to check for deals if I'm out at a store or check e-mail. Whenever I'm on the train I always see people looking down at their screens doing something. Sometimes I wish I knew what they were doing so I can also.

To give you an idea of how little I use my phone: I charge my phone once every four days. Monday to Friday I'm at work and I never touch it. It just sits on my desk from 8am to 7pm. The smartphone is wasted on me.

I'd like to think my world would seriously be hindered without my phone...
I have all 30 primary calendars (mostly work/lab availability) synced to it, I of course have my personal and my work email synced as well. (which is probably a bad thing since I feel like I am on call 24/7)
I bought the year of pandora and stream that from my PC then again to my car once I leave work.
I have a billion apps, mostly because I do a heavy amount of E-shopping.
I also have the Handy app because well... I like things to be level and I am always looking for a ruler...
I use my camera A LOT... I really think I make very few phone calls. I mostly just call Macruz.
But yea, I dont text. If someone texts me I will never get it. I mean, I have AIM, KiK, and my email, and facebook, and they could always call me... so I saw no point in paying for texts...
Also, I dont use the internet at home as I am on dial-up so my phone is like my laptop...Which is probably part of the reason why I am literally attached at the hip to my phone.

I'm not even remotely close to using all of Android's features, and I learn new things about my phone all the time.

Same....

I don't have text-messages at all, and just recently due to a free-upgrade (That I wouldn't have bothered to get if my kid didn't bust my phone) I didn't have a camera-phone either.

I do use it to see what day of the month it is sometimes.... and once a month or so, I find myself struggling to find where the "calculator" feature is

Nope, I just use the internet to check slickdeals and blu-ray.com from time to time at work and that's pretty much it.

wordfeud, facebook, amazon, profootballtalk.com etc

i dont even go to use the crapper unless i have my phone.

i also talk a LOT on my phone.
as far as texts......i have unlimited and boy do i use a lot.

i also check my email from my EVO.

why have a smartphone if you arent using all the features?

i only pay $75 a month for everything from sprint as i have a 25% off discount
  • 450 landline minutes
  • unlimited everything else (text, mms, web, caling other cell phones no matter the carrier etc)

plus i rooted my EVO so there is always something to do on the phone, if not ill go to xda-developers.com and read more useful information about my phone

Its nice to know I'm not completely alone! Not old yet, but I guess I have an old soul where phones are concerned.

The only benefit I see to these phones becoming more powerful is the overall developments they help bring about in miniaturizing processing power and making the electronics I am interested in more affordable.

Smart phones, facebook, myspace, twit-twitter. I'll be the last sane man standing that never uses them, if necessary.

I have a Blackberry and don't come close to using all the features. I use it for email mainly, and then for text messaging and email. I hardly use it for a phone at all, most months I only use about 150 minutes a month. I hate talking on the phone so I usually text or email.

I'm hoping at the end of the year to get an Iphone or Android phone because Blackberry is so outdated and hasn't kept up with those operating systems. I have a company phone and I'm in charge of getting cell phones so hopefully my current carrier (US Cellular) will get some better phones or I'll look into Verizon.
