whats funny is that besides toshiba, not one name brand electronics manufacturer is making a hd dvd player. whlile blu has what about 9 or 10

I understand what you guys are saying and I agree but at the same time we have yet to see a resonably priced Blu-ray player has has profile 1.1. Its nice that Blu-ray has a ton of CE support but it doesn't do us any good if the players are $600-$1000 and aren't full spec. I don't really think the consumer will give a crap when they see a few cheaper players versus 20 gazillion Blu-ray players that aren't in their price range.

sucks they are all gonna be losing money once toshiba make that 200 dollar player. They will follow suit losing money on each hardware sold. That's why not many companies bother with it.

I wonder if the HD-DUD fans will be even able to find this phantom Venturer HD-DUD player. I think it will probably be harder to find than Blads of Glory on Blu-Ray
