Default Thinking of making the leap into projectors (for cheep)

Hey guys.
After the whole 3d tv disaster (couldent find a 3d set that dident have some major distracting issue with it, burn in, flashlighting, etc..) i got a new samsung tv, with major light leakage issues on its entire right side, so i traded it with my dad, who is not one bit bothered by it for his old sony 40 inch which is a great lcd, but i want somthing bigger and better.

Thinking of for my small bedroom, Projectors since i dont see how they have any of the issues like lcds with backlight leakage and flashlighting, and plasmas, with burn in issues. Yes, i know at some point your going to have to change the bulb but thats really the main issue im reading about.

So whats the low down and more importantly, where can i get a good one for cheep?

Few Questions.
No flashlighting or burn in right with a projector?
How noisy are they?
Do you really need a screen for them or is a grey wall good enough?
Does 1080p vs 720p really matter when the image is 100 inches?

I can live with 720 p for a projector. This is my first one and i dont expect it to be the top of the line model. Also its just for a 10x11 bedroom with just one window and since im an insominac i do most of my movie watching at night anyhow.

Any sujestions? I dont want to spend over 500 dollars if i can. I looked on bestbuy.com and amazon but i know jack shit about these things, i dont want to get rooked cause 500 bucks is a months worth of petty cash for me!

thanks guys
