Default What order does the Harry Potter movies go in?

I see the next one is coming out in Imax 3D. I'd like to see it and should probably see all the others first. I've herd their great movies. Thanks

By the way - they cut out a LOT from the books. If you like the movies then I suggest reading the books as well.

Sorcerer's Stone
Chamber of Secrets
Prisoner of Azkaban
Goblet of Fire
Order of the Phoenix

I saw Order of the Phoenix in IMAX 3D. The last 20 minutes of the film were in 3D and it was actually pretty awesome. There was glass flying all around me.

have you read the last book? it makes perfect sense. there's a lot of info in the book and i, for one, don't want it chopped up. or have pieces left out.

Just to warn you that the fifth movie, Order Of The Phoenix, Is IMHO a little bit shit. Like the book it doesn't really go anywhere . But they did a pretty good job of the first four. Especially Goblet Of Fire which is my personal favourite.

Then again you may actually enjoy Phoenix. Watch them and let us know what you thought afterwards

There is so much detail that is absolutely necessary to the entire story, it would be an absolute travesty to try to cram it into one.

So don't see it as a money making thing (or whatever, although they certainly will make money) this is truly the right thing to do to give the story the right way.

Need I remind you of the crap job done on Star Wars Prequels? Don't think of it as splitting the book, but more as splitting the story (and it's a detailed one that simply shouldn't be done in one movie)

By the way, it's best to start with the first chapter of the first book, instead of skipping around to the chapters that coincide with your favorite Bingo numbers. Boy, did I learn that the hard way!!!

Are we seriously taking up space on the internet and my computer screen to make a thread about this?

I really like that last fight scene in OOTP. That must've been crazy in IMAX... Wish I would've seen it.

Although I would rather have them make only one last movie, and not split it into to, I would also rather have them close all the loose ends and remain as true to the book as they can. If that means they have to split it into 2 movies, so be it. Perhaps when it is released to Blu-ray, there will be a version where they are joined. What would they call the extra movie anyways?

Still, if you have not, READ THE BOOKS! They are EASY! Very easy. Since they were originally written to appeal most to the age group that the main character is in, they gradually get harder, but never difficult. They get more complex with more adult themes over time, but they still remain children/young adult books. I highly suggest you read them, because they have left out a lot from the previous movies, enough to guarantee they are going to cut out things later on that would apply to them (hogwart elves anyone?). The books are always going to be better than the movies, but I look forward to see how they bring about the films.

How about:

Harry Potter and The Battle for Hogwarts

or, courtesy of Mel Brooks:

Harry Potter and The Search for More Money
Marketing would include an all new Nimbus 2001: The Flamethrower!!!

They'll probably just call the movies:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
