I may be misinterpreting, but it sounds like they'll be using the same underlying master as the German disc BUT with extensive clean-up and colour correction.

They would've probably known this for a short while now. And if anything it'll spur them on to do other oft-requested titles...like Ju-on: The Grudge?

I think elsewhere it was speculated that whoever got The Hitcher also might have Near Dark, which is even better news in my opinion.

Not all of them.

I'm not sure if the top menu trick works with the locked ones or not.
