Default something funny happend

So, I went to Best Buy and they were having a sale on select Blu Ray titles. I picked up Talladega Nights unrated and some other ones. Well, when I got home, I opened up Talladega Nights unrated and it was the wrong disc! It was Talladega Nights but it was the PG-13 version and on the disc it said, "For promotional use only, not for sale" so it was a demo of the movie or something. So I thought that was kinda weird and funny. I have yet to take it back though. Has this happened to anyone else, with any movie?

Hasn't happened to me, but I have received a 3 disc Blu with one disc missing.

Sounds like you got the Talladega Nights that was bundled with the launch PS3 way back when. Kind of cool

Strange stuff like this happens a lot,I was going to make a thread about Amazon a few months ago,but could not be arsed.

Has anyone come across this little carry on ?

I have recieved bestbuy and wallmart exclusive versions of titles ordered from Amazon, not there market place.

I have also recieved titles from amazon that have had Blockbuster and bestbuy price tags on them.

I don't live in the states and theres no bestbuys or wallmarts here.

closest thing to wallmart here is ASDA because they own the bugger.

Its either Amazon buys exstock from other chains or when they close down they buy them up cheap.

either that or some customers return items that they never got from amazon in the first place and amazon does not check.

I purchased The Incredible Hulk from Walmart on release day, and it had a blank dvd-r instead of the Blu-ray disc.

How is it epic fail. I am sure he is telling the truth. I know for a fact that some people buy movies and games open then take the disc and reseal it with a blank disc. The reseal does not look as great as it does from the factory but then again Wal Mart are the eariest store to return to so they most likly did not notice.

Maybe he meant fail on the store's part?

I'd say Costco is the easiest to re-seal and return. Wrinkles up the plastic, but it can be done!

I think it must of been an employee at their distribution center, because it was perfectly shrink wrapped.

In this scenario Best Buy and Blockbuster put their own tags on the discs had too many and sent them back to the distributor uinopened. Then Amazon placed an prder fot those certain titles to replenish their own stock and you were one of the lucky Amazon customers to get one of those.
I've seen this happen with CDs when I used to work in a record store many moons ago when records were still a popular format

I meant it as a joke towards the store/distribution center/whoever packages the disc. I never thought it would be someone resealing and returning, but since I was joking, I don't really care...

Edit: Wasn't trying to say blujacket lied, I bought a DVD years ago, factory sealed and everything, and when I opened it up, it was an empty case... Circuit City didn't believe me so I had to argue with them... I had to talk to the manager. I asked him "If I was going to go through all this trouble, don't you think it would have been over a movie that I paid more than $4.00 for?" He then saw the light, and let me exchange.

Something like that did happen to me, but it was not even a copy of the movie I bought. I bought Shinobi Heart Under Blade on DVD, and inside it was Afro Samurai. And what's worse is I waited about two months to watch it so I could not take it back.

This is why I open all my new movies as soon as I get them home, whether I'm going to watch them right then or not.

Steve, I keep mine wrapped until I watch them unless it sounds like its come loose or anything, but thinking about it now maybe it is best just to double check them a.s.a.p

I had my 2 disc 'Stephen Fry Last Chance To See' turn up with disc 1 missing, shrink wrapped!
It may not have been so bad if it was disc 2 missing while I was waiting for the replacement I could have started viewing.
